Sankeys Manchester granted 6am licence

One month after its return, Sankeys Manchester has been granted a new 6am license, restoring the late-night freedom that once defined the club.

After having been closed down with the selling of the Beehive Mill building in 2017, the club announced its return in November 2025. The sold-out reopening weekend at the new location on Sidney Street took place on 30-31st January, 2026.

The news of the 6am license coincides with the return of Sankeys in-house brand and event series, The Redlight, set to take place on Saturday, 24th May, over the bank holiday weekend.

Rooted in the Sankeys Soap era throughout the 2000s and beyond, The Redlight was dedicated to the club’s house and garage-focused programming. The May Bank Holiday edition sees Felix Da Housecat headline under The Redlight banner, with OG Sankeys residents Krysko and Bucky in support.

The new 500-capacity space features an LED matrix installation and a no-VIP, no-phones dancefloor policy. Weekly Saturday events with unannounced headliners are now underway, with names including Heidi, Maya Jane Coles, Solardo, Stacey Pullen, Steve Lawler, Magda, Nick Curly and Oxia set to take over the decks.
