New podcast series from AlphaTheta aims to inspire women and non-binary people in music

As part of the Equal Beats initiative, AlphaTheta has launched a seven-part podcast series to help change the narrative around pathways into the music industry for underrepresented genders and communities.

Hosted by DJ and presenter, Kikelomo and recorded in London by an all-female crew, the series will feature guests including DJs, managers, agents, and PR professionals who will share insight, guidance, and first-hand experiences. Each episode will focus on a key aspect of the industry, and will be free and easily accessible.

Equal Beats is a global initiative created by AlphaTheta to drive gender and community parity in the music industry. It began in February 2025, when the team recognised that only 13% of AlphaTheta account holders were female identifying.

Determined to reach a more diverse audience, they started Equal Beats and began running events, networking lunches, artist collaborations, and media campaigns focused on breaking down barriers within the music industry, fostering collaboration across roles, and inspiring the next generation of talent in female, femme, and non-binary communities.

This podcast is about opening doors, sharing real experiences, inspiring others and reminding people that there’s space for everyone in this industry.

Talking about the Equal Beats podcast, Isabel Sugrañes, marketing executive at AlphaTheta said: “With Equal Beats, we wanted to make it easier for people to find their way into the music industry. So many aspiring women, femmes, and non-binary talents don’t know where to start, and hearing honest advice from established female voices can make all the difference. This podcast is about opening doors, sharing real experiences, inspiring others and reminding people that there’s space for everyone in this industry."

Equal Beats is an ongoing journey, and AlphaTheta’s aim is to build something inclusive and meaningful. The team behind it is actively working to grow the initiative in a way that reflects the full diversity of the music industry and inspires more females, femmes, and non-binary people to engage with DJing.

The first episode of the Equal Beats podcast, featuring Indira Paganotto, is available to stream now.
