Got The Love Festival – celebrating all-things ‘90s and ‘00s – launches in Kent, UK in 2024 and will be headlined by James Morrison, rapper Eve, Vengaboys, boyband Blue, dance troupe Diversity, Phats & Small, Basshunter and more.
Taking place in Birchington, Kent, Got The Love Festival is billed as a nostalgic extravaganza designed to bring together fans of all ages to relive the music of two unforgettable decades.
Headlining the festival is James Morrison, whose debut single, You Give Me Something (taken from his no.1 debut album, Undiscovered) reached number one in New Zealand in 2006 and charted within the top 10 in Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK, kickstarting a career that would go on to include hit singles including Wonderful World, You Make It Real and Broken Strings ft Nelly Furtardo.
In an interview with Headliner, Morrison discussed the mindset of performing at festivals when compared to his own headline gigs:
“I always have that frame of mind when I'm going on stage – there’s probably people there that don't like me or haven't bought tickets especially for me, but they're there. That’s where the fire comes from, and I'll just try and sing the best I can to get them on board so they know I'm doing it for the right reasons. And normally by the end, I’ve got 'em.”
In terms of the songs he always includes on his sets, he reveals:
“I tried taking Broken Strings out of the tour and people would just cheer it at the end of the set, like, ‘You've got to sing it!’ I try to please fans and play what they want to hear because I've been to gigs where they don't play the song you want to hear and it is annoying. I 100% want to hear them singing along. They're so good at singing that one.”
