Dune and No Time To Die Lead Oscars Music And Sound Wins

The slap heard round the world will be the only thing people remember about the 2022 Oscars, but it turns out some awards were also handed out at the 94th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Minutes after Will Smith stole the focus from the night’s proceedings by striking Chris Rock across the face after a joke aimed at Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, he was back up on stage accepting his award for Best Actor for his role in King Richard, the biographical drama that follows the life of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis stars Venus Williams and Serena Williams.

Performing virtually from Compton on the tennis courts where Venus and Serena practised as children, Beyonce opened the ceremony with a performance of Be Alive from King Richard.

Also performing at the ceremony were Billie Eilish and Finneas, who performed No Time to Die from the latest James Bond film, Reba McEntire, who sang Somehow You Do from Four Good Days, and Sebastian Yatra, who performed Dos Oruguitas from Encanto.
