Dave Stewart, the highly acclaimed Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, UK Music Hall of Fame, GRAMMY Award, Golden Globe Awards, multi-Brit Award and Ivor Novello Award winning musician, has joined PRS for Music for worldwide music royalty collection.

Spanning four decades and with over 100 million album sales worldwide, Stewart’s career is highly decorated with a long list of accolades. In addition to co-founding Eurythmics with Annie Lennox, he has produced albums and co-written songs with Bob Dylan, Bryan Ferry, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Daryl Hall, Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Stevie Nicks, Sinead O’Connor, Katy Perry, Tom Petty, Gwen Stefani, and many others.

Stewart recently collaborated with Joss Stone on scoring West End musical, The Time Traveler’s Wife, and with Glen Ballard for Broadway hit Ghost the Musical, which will continue its global run in 2025.

Andrea Czapary Martin, CEO, PRS for Music, said: “Dave Stewart is the songwriter’s songwriter, constantly lifting the craft through his talent and genuine passion for supporting the creative community. We are honoured to have Dave join PRS and work alongside him as a real pioneer who is aligned with us to find new tech solutions that can transform the industry and get more money to songwriters. We are pushing the gold-standard of what music royalty collection should be, growing the value of music rights internationally, so that music creation can thrive. Dave Stewart’s unparalleled wide-ranging repertoire will benefit from PRS’s stellar performance across any avenue he chooses to explore with his work.”

Stewart commented: “I’m excited to partner with PRS for Music, a place that truly understands the evolving landscape of creativity. I’m continually pushing boundaries with my artistry, and I appreciate how PRS keeps pace with me as a creator. Their evolution in handling data and the robust support they offer is phenomenal. This partnership represents a further commitment to fostering a vibrant community of artists. Together, we can amplify the value of music and ensure that every song and songwriter gets fair transparent reporting and the recognition they deserve.”

Stewart is currently working with director Shekhar Kapur (What’s Love Got to Do With It?), on feature film musical Ebony McQueen, a 1960s-early ’70s coming-of-age story inspired by Stewart's teen years in the North East of England and the records that sparked his passion for music. Filming will begin in the spring and feature songs by Stewart and garlanded South Asian composer A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, Elizabeth: The Golden Age).
